ABC | USPSs Jump Start Program provides a framework for a club member to provide one-on-one training to a member or non-member student on the student’s own boat. The student should own a new boat, or at least a boat new to them. The student should have some boating experience, but limited experience with the type of boat for which the training will be conducted. The boat must have a current Vessel Safety Check sticker. You must also sign a waiver form so we can provide this free service at your request. You must also provide proof that such boat is covered by marine public liability and casualty insurance policies issued by reputable solvent insurance companies in amounts not less than
$1,000,000 and USPS is endorsed under such insurance policies as an additional insured.

The content of the training is customized to fit the needs of the individual student. The goal is to help the new boat owner to develop essential skills for safe operation of their boat and to break through any barriers that may limit their boating enjoyment. The target time for the training is set at approximately two hours. This provides a reasonable amount of time to teach a number of skills. It also sets a reasonable expectation for the student.
The Jump Start Program provides a personalized, high-quality training experience for the student. It also encourages participation in additional club training and activities.
